Chapter Eight

On Fort Lauderdale Beach, behind the Yankee Clipper Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 6:30 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016

Mac got out of his car in the parking lot. They had been running every morning for two weeks, and Mac was beginning to have a hard time keeping up with Steel. It hadn’t been easy to keep a lid on Steel’s enthusiasm. He wanted to do more, go faster, and push his boundaries to the limit. He was euphoric. Mac wanted him to take it one day at a time and not take any chances on injuries. They had compromised, and now Steel did a sprint on the way back from the runs that were getting a little longer each day. Steel was getting faster and his strides smoother every day as well. Mac was thrilled with Steel’s progress, too, although their personal relationship did not seem to be moving at the quick pace of Steel’s running.

When they had donned their running shoes, stretched, and were prepared to head out, Mac said, “How about a trip to the Black Iris tonight, Sir? We haven’t been up there in a while.” He didn’t want to say “or fucked in a while,” but he was thinking it. Mac knew that this new skill set and the opportunity to compete in the half marathon had taken over Steel’s life for the present, and that was understandable. He just didn’t want to let their personal D/s relationship go by the wayside in all the excitement of the moment.

Steel glanced over at him. Was that too forward, topping from the bottom? “You know, subbie, you’re right. We haven’t been up to the club in a while. Let’s meet there at eight tonight. And we’ll address that topping from the bottom as well.”

A fast riffle of nerves sped up Mac’s spine at the “topping from the bottom” remark. They exchanged a hard hug and a quick kiss before they headed north at the tide line.
